To Whom It May Concern:
A self-described animation enthusiast, professors and employers alike have commented on my diligence, enthusiasm, strong work ethic and ability to deliver
projects on time despite tight scheduling. As a perfectionist, I do my upmost to give my all to projects I'm responsible for. A definate detail-oriented observer, I tend to thrive in fast paced environments and welcome challenges and growth opportunities.
With a five year education in all realms of 2-D and 3-D animation, an exploration of each aspect of traditional and computer generated animation was paid equal attention. My broad knowledge of Maya qualifies me as a generalist, fluent in all aspects therein,
with a particular interest in 3-D modeling and design. Work experience in Flash introduced the art of 2-D animation and design. A decade of practicing skills acquired over multiple years of training assists in a deep understanding and believable execution
through drawing and painting to communicate a particular style, mood or environment. I have realized the importance of moving through pre-production and planning phases including photography, thumbnails, storyboarding, layout and design, to maintain a feeling of consistency throughout execution of ideas.
Experience in painting with a variety of mediums acts a visual aid in achieving realism through texture. My multiple years of study concerning human and animal
anatomy and movement enables believable execution from concept sketches to animation, creating real time movement that displays weight, personality and all of the principles that breathe life in to any character. Recently employment as a rotoscope digital artist at IMAX 3D, using After Effects to help convert 20 minutes to 3D on the feature film Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix, furthered my understanding of compositing and post-production. With these principles in sync, transferring the reality in three dimensional space on to any two dimensional surface is made both achievable and believable.
My education has recently been rounded out with a Radio and Television On-Air Broadcasting Certificate. I have always enjoyed communication and wished to broaden my horizons therein. Past employment and volunteer experience has given me a lot of exposure and positive experiences in both dealing with the public at large, existing clientele and children. Work experience has primarily built strong skills in communication, creativity, administration, and teamwork.
